SKYWATCH Omnidirectional Windmeters:

JDC's SKYWATCH series was launched over seven years ago, and has become the standard for marine and scientific wind meters. The most accurate omni-directional wind meters on the market, JDC's SKYWATCH series offers great functions at an affordable price. Designed for consumer and professional use, the SKYWATCH series does not include complicated and seldom-used features such as downloading and storing. The EOLE & METEOS have been discontinued. We are currently developing a new generation of our EOLE, METEOS and ATMOS. These will be launched in 2008.

The EOLE measures wind speed only. The large rotating cups will measure a breeze from 1.0 mph to the strongest winds. The largest numerals are on the EOLE, with a wind speed bar graph that changes with the wind. Maximum and average wind speed is recorded while on.

The METEOS adds a temperature sensor to measure air temperature and calculate windchill. The digits are slightly smaller than on the EOLE, but still easily read. A bar graph on the left side visually displays the wind speed being measured. Maximum and average wind speed is recorded, along with maximum and minimum temperatures. An analog compass is on the protective cover.

The ATMOS is designed specifically for the agricultural and scientific markets. Wind speed, temperature, and relative humidity are measured. Windchill and dew point are calculated on the ATMOS. This unit is by far the best device for measuring windspeed, temperature, and humidity. It is simple to use, accurate, and dependable. The hygrometer never needs calibration, maintaining its high accuracy over the life of the product.

JDC's SKYWATCH EOLE, METEOS, and ATMOS are ideal instruments for a variety of uses. Any windsport requires windspeed, and omnidirectional windmeters are simple and quick to use. Simply hold them up in the wind to get the instant windspeed. These are water-resistant, but not waterproof, so we do not recommend use in the water. For those uses, we recommend our SKYWATCH XPLORER line of windmeters

These are also in use around the globe for military and shooting uses. Wind, temperature, and humidity all affect what goes on in the field, from troop fatigue to shooting adjustments. The internal battery provides hundreds of measurements, with a battery-saving auto-off feature. The SKYWATCH EOLE, METEOS and ATMOS all have a tripod fitting on the bottom, which allows for extended measurements.
