Best Part for the Essential Conversion to PDF

Choosing which type to save and send a document or image is very simple and depends on the use we want to make. Here’s what to evaluate

We handle dozens of files every day. This is a program, a word document, an image. Each of them is composed of a name, a point and a sort of short abbreviation. The latter is called extension and is used to identify the type of file downloaded and saved on the PC.

The Right Example

Let’s take an example. Find a document is a Word file can go just fine and take a look at its name. You will notice that the file is accompanied by the following extension .doc. It is a format that Microsoft owns and is used to “classify” all files that contain text. Having clarified this point, let’s move on. Not all files have a single format. We take images into consideration. You may have dealt with JPG or PNG. Depending on the type chosen, the photo will take on different characteristics. For the epub to pdf conversion and more you will need the best deal.

Each file therefore has a certain format. But which one to choose? It depends on the use we make of the file. Is it better to save and send a document using the doc or PDF format? To answer this question it is necessary to know what differentiates one format from another.

  • Another doubt revolves around the format of the images. The most common and used is the JPEG one, because, due to its characteristics, it allows to save, send and share photos with ease. The .jpg extension, in fact, compresses the file (and therefore also its dimensions) without affecting its initial quality. However, the format is not so perfect. Take an image saved in JPEG (for information, its full name is Joint Photographic Experts Group) and enlarge it. You will notice that shadows appear on the edges. The reason is due to the compression system used by the format. Furthermore, as the file is saved several times, the image loses its quality.

Epub and PDF

Most people use the doc or Epub formats (an extension used by the latest versions of Microsoft Word) and PDF to save and send documents. The first has the advantage of allowing those who receive the file to make changes. Unfortunately, however, this type of format does not allow users to open the attachment directly from the browser. And if you don’t use Office online, the only way to read the document is to download it to your computer. Moreover, people are forced to install Microsoft Word or a compatible program.

The PDF format, an acronym for Portable Document Format, as you can also guess from the English name, was designed to allow anyone to read a file. In addition, it is not necessary that the document received by email be downloaded to the computer, since it can be read directly from any browser.

Which one to use? It depends. Do you want to be sure that the file is readable by everyone and maintains the original formatting? Save it in PDF. On the contrary, if you prefer that those who receive the document make changes, better use the doc format.

Which to use between the two formats?

Also in this case it depends on the use. A PNG image guarantees, thanks to the use of a non-loss compression method, higher quality. In addition, it is more suitable if you need to edit and save the file multiple times. The JPEG format, on the other hand, in addition to offering an acceptable resolution, is above all lighter.
